อย่าใช้ WordPress ในชื่อโดเมน

The WordPress Trademark domain name usage policy was added not long ago to the official WordPress site. The policy basically says you can’t use the name in your domain name without permission.
ขณะนี้ มีบางคนได้รับอีเมลจาก Automattic Inc. แจ้งให้ระงับการใช้ชื่อ WordPress แล้ว (WordPress is a Registered Trademark of Automattic, Inc. โดย Andy Wibbels)
I work for Automattic Inc. We run wordpress.com and we own the WordPress trademark. We have noticed that you are using the WordPress name in your [domainname.com] domain and product without our permission. We are asking you to stop using our trademark to market your [services]. Please let us know how long it will take you to change the name of your site and product.

คงเหมือนกับ เมื่อ 10 ปีก่อน หนังสือคอมไทยเจ้าหนึ่ง ได้จด domain ชื่อ thaiamazon.com ทำเป็นร้านหนังสือ online เหมือนกับ amazon.com หลังจากนั้นก็ถูก amazon.com ฟ้องร้อง เลยต้องยกเลิกบริการนี้ไป
มาดูในกรณีนี้กันบ้าง (ความรู้เรื่องกฎหมายของผมเป็น 0) อ้างอิงจาก http://andywibbels.com/post/1287 ได้กล่าวไว้ว่า WordPress ถูกจดเป็นเครื่องหมายการค้า ของ Automattic, Inc. ซึ่งได้จดเป็น US trademark อันนี้ไม่รู้ว่ครอบคลุมถึงประเทศไทยหรือเปล่า คงต้องให้นักกฏหมายมาช่วยตอบ

จริงๆมันก็ไม่ถึง 10ปีหรอกนะ (สงสัยผมจะแก่แล้ว, ThaiAmazon.com เริ่มราวๆปี 199
